Youth Parliament is an immersive leadership and governance program that introduces students to the functioning of democratic institutions through parliamentary simulations. Participants take on the roles of Members of Parliament, Ministers, Opposition Leaders, Speakers, and Committee Members while debating national and global issues, proposing policies, and engaging in legislative discussions.
The course combines public speaking, critical thinking, policy analysis, negotiation, leadership, and parliamentary procedure to help students understand how governments function and how decisions are made in democratic societies. Students learn to debate, deliberate, draft bills, and build consensus while experiencing the workings of a real parliament.
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
